Personal Accident Insurance

TRA members are covered by the following personal accident policy, when competing at licensed events within the United Kingdon.

Compensation will be payable in the event of Accidental Death or Accidental Bodily injury whilst any member or Club official of a participating club are:-

Cover Option B:
Whilst an insured person is participating in an official club event, activity or meeting, training session or social event arranged or, organised or on behalf of a participating club in connection with the sporting activity, travelling to and from and participating in athletics at any event, activity or meeting organised by or recognised by UK Athletics Limited, including travelling directly to and from events, activities or meetings anywhere in the United Kingdom.

Provides for a sum insured of £25,000 (£10,000 for death for a child) to be payable if, as a direct result of any accident one of your members:-

• Dies
• Loses the use of one or more hands or feet
• Loses the sight of one or both eyes
  
  
• Sustains injuries that prevent them from continuing in any occupation for which they are fitted by way of training, education or employment for the remainder of their life (any gainful employment for a child).
  
  
• Temporary Total Disablement which prevents one from carrying out all parts of their usual occupation: payment is made after the first four weeks, for up to two years, of £250 per week of 100% of net weekly wage, whichever is the lesser.
  
  
• Temporary Partial Disablement which prevents one from carrying out all parts of their usual occupation: payment is made after the first two weeks, for up to fifty-four weeks, of £100 per week or 40% of net weekly wage, whichever is the lesser.
  
  
• These benefits will only apply if the member is over 18 years of age and gainfully employed. Otherwise only out-of-pocket expenses are payable (£50 per week): payment is made after the first four weeks, for up to six months.
